The Wayland City Planning Commission will have a joint meeting with the Wayland City Council at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 8, for a public hearing to examine the site plan for the new splash pad and city park renovations.
The City Council’s meeting scheduled for Monday, Sept. 7, will not take place because of Labor Day, so City Manager Mike Selden proposed that council meet with the Planning Commission, which was to meet that Tuesday anyway, but at 7 p.m.
Planning Commission Vice Chairman J.D. Gonzales insisted the commission not end its meeting at 7 p.m. and then reconvene if not all business was taken care of. He suggested the council meet at whatever time the commission is done.
Selden said he made the suggestion because he wants both bodies to have a good look at the splash pad site plans. The city only recently received the go-ahead from the state on seeking bids for the splash pad and new playground equipment and renovations.
The Planning Commission also will take up an I-2 (industrial) and B-2 (business) issue at the corner of 133rd Avenue and South Main Street.
