City finalizes sale of parking lot next to library

The City of Wayland and Henika District Library made it official Monday night with the sale of the adjacent parking lot for $1.

The lot immediately south of the library was owned by the city, but now there may be plans to expand the library. The grassy property just south of the parking lot also is owned by the library.

Library officials have indicated they are interested in expanding the more than 100-year-old building, which now is officially recognized as a Michigan Historical site.
