The Martin Boys won an interesting post-season debut, 73-42 over Kalamazoo Phoenix on Monday.

It was a close contest early, as Martin only led the Fury by one, 16-15 after one quarter. Bound and determined, the Clippers put in bucket after bucket and soon led 42-30 at the half. It became a solid lead for the Martin bad boys and they never looked back.

Carter Hilton was on fire for Martin, as he posted 20 points, which included a couple of threes. Cayden Curry contributed 11 and Clayton Geerling counted 9.

Kyrin Woodson led Phoenix with 21 points. His Fury teammate, Skylar Singleton, put in 10.

The Clippers will now advance to play Howardsville Christian Wednesday in the District semifinals. Marcellus Howardsville Christian has a 17-5 record and it defeated Colon 72-36 in its district opener Monday.

All of the action will now be on Martin’s home court as district play continues
