Garrett Dill and Matt McVean hit back to back threes and Martin was off and running against Bloomingdale Friday, cruising to a 59-44 victory.
The Clippers led 18-7 at the end of the first quarter and then Branden Buell took over, scoring 12 second quarter points and leading Martin to a 34-16 lead at the half. Buell scored three consecutive baskets at the beginning of the quarter and the final two baskets of the period. He finished with 18 to lead all scorers. Dill added 13 points and sophomore Tanner Curry finished with 10.
The game belonged to Martin from the outset and Bloomingdale never got closer than the 11 points the Cardinals trailed by in the first eight minutes.
Martin, a team that won only five times last year, ran its season record to 7-8, while Bloomingdale slipped to 1-13.
Martin will host Bangor on Tuesday.
