Martin’s softball squad is off to a fast start with four consecutive victories.

The Lady Clippers, behind some nifty pitching from senior Sophia Shettler, swept a doubleheader Thursday against Gobles, by 3-0 and 9-2 counts.

Shettler threw an 11-player no-hitter in game one and she yielded only two hits in the nightcap..

Clipper outfielders led the offensive attack, meanwhile, including sophomores Faith Guritz and Jaclyn Hildebrand. Sydney Eckman returned from from injury to stroke a couple of hits.

The wins in Gobles come on the coat tails of two shutout victories in a twin bill in Comstock.

Martin will look to keep the streak going as it takes on Allegan next after spring break on Tuesday, April 10.
