Clipper Logo_6_4Martin’s baseball squad dropped a conference doubleheader at Bangor Thursday, losing the first game 4-0 and dropping the second 12-2.

“We sort of reverted back to early in the season when we were not playing very well,” Martin Coach Jon Gambee said. “Actually we hit the ball well, but right at them all day.”

Martin had only four hits in the first game and five in the second. Garrett Dill went the distance in the opener and Garrett Altman started and took the loss in the nightcap. He was relieved in the sixth inning by Hunter Gilson.

Bangor scored once in the first inning, twice in the fourth and once again in the fifth against Dill. They scored early and often in the second game, getting four in the second, two in the third, three in the fourth, two in the fifth and put it away with a single run in the sixth.

Tanner Curry had two hits in the first game and Garrett Altman and Saul Altman each had one hit.

In the second game, there were hits recorded by Scott Kerley, Dill, Saul Altman, Curry and freshman Zeke Dillenbeck.

With the two losses, Martin’s record slipped to 5-9 on the season. The Clippers are scheduled to be host to Saugatuck Monday.
