The Martin boys picked up a 62-52 victory over SAC opponent Gobles Friday, improving their record to a modest 3-5.
After one quarter, Martin was up by 14 points and it was clear the Clippers had what it took to beat Gobles.
Talented Sophomore Cayden Curry led the Clippers in scoring, turning in 15 points. Carter Hilton was not far behind with 13. The Clippers trio of Canton Vandenberg, Logan Elkins and Michael Morey each contributed 7 points.
The visiting Tigers were led in scoring by their star, Tyler Stedman, with 28 points.
A ten-point margin could have been a lot higher. Foul trouble plagued both teams, slowing down a streak by the Clippers.
“Clipper nation” once again will host hoops action Tuesday when Martin dukes it out with Saugatuck, an SAC powerhouse.
