It was a trip to “Fabulous” Las Vegas for the Clippers winter homecoming, creative dress up days and themed posters headlined the week. Crowds filled the gymnasium Friday night in anticipation of the festivities planned and what was billed to be big contests.
Lady Clippers edged 39-33 by Coloma
Throughout the game, the margin was slim but the Martin girls ultimately came up short by six points. The Lady Clippers led 11 to 9 after one quarter and Coloma would lead by one, 17-16, at the half.
Visiting Coloma was led in scoring by Senior Julia Sternman with 19 points, and teammate Morgan Wagner contributed 10. Martin was led by powerhouse sophomores Faith Guritz and Jaclyn Hildebrand. Guritz finished with 15 points, and Hildebrand notched 7.
The loss puts Martin at 7-8 overall, heading into a battle in neighboring Delton Tuesday.
Martin boys can’t keep up with Coloma ace, fall 80-31
Coloma star Zach Goodline stole the show once again, totaling an impressive 30 points. Michael Morey led the effort for Martin, putting up 13 points.
With the victory over Martin, Coloma moves to 12-0. The Clippers, now 5-8 will be host to Delton in a neighborhood hoops rematch on Tuesday.
