Work crews have been at the four corners of downtown Wayland lately. City Manager Mike Selden said, “Basically, they are just replacing the old signal and cross walk lights, with new equipment. The traffic lights will be on new arm bars, versus the old wire system and the cross walk signals will be ADA compliant with the timers and such. The traffic signals will also have sensors on them to detect the amount of traffic to allow for longer lights when traffic is heavier and shorter lights when there is less traffic. The project should be completed by Nov. 15.”
