The number of reported cases of the Coronavirus in Allegan County has been strikingly stable over the late spring and summer.
While cases have spiked in many areas of Michigan, the United States and around the world, the number deaths from the virus has been constant at six for the past four months. The death number at one time was reported incorrectly at seven, but later was revised back down to six.
Statistics showed six deaths as a result of Covid-19 in May, and other than the incorrectly added one case, the fatality number has remained at six.
As of Sept. 3, there have been 578 cases reported in the county since the pandemic began in March. There have been 510 reported as recovered, according to Michigan Department of Health officials’ criteria. A total of 44 has been hospitalized.
