Crazy, nasty weather featured in first Saturday in June here

Saturday turned out to be a very eventful weather day. It began with dark and ominous clouds then rain in the morning, delaying the state track meets and district softball contests. Things cleared up early in the afternoon, but then rain returned with plenty of large hail, a big as quarter size, fog, and the piece de resistance, a major thunderstorm. There were reports of widespread power outages in Hopkins and there was a report of a tree limb down over Park Street in Wayland. (Photos courtesy of Penny Gamblin Johnston.
