Curly Cone continues to expand Gun Lake business

Julie Hawthorne Fox, owner of perhaps the most ambitious and growing restaurant in this area, is planning to expand even more the Curly Cone business in the Gun Lake area.

Curly Cone now intends to establish a market nearby.

From humble beginnings as Kirk’s Kurly Kones, a Dairy Queen style drive-up soft serve ice cream shop in 1954, she has added on a full-service sit-down restaurant, serving breakfast lunch and dinner, with bakery and espresso bar.

The Curly Cone campus also now will include a farm stand and four-season outdoor Cocktail Garden. It even has a pickleball court.

“We also have the cutest darn food truck in West Michigan to help our neighbors host their next private or corporate event,” Hawthone Fox said on her web site. A graduate of Western Michigan University with a degree in business management, she also has been associated with teh U-Rent-Um canoe rental business near Hastings.

Curly Cone is open from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily on Chief Noonday Road, across the road from the Gun Lake walk-in medical clinic.

If you need any help either in the restaurant or a driver

    NOT a fan.
The owner lambasted public health advisories and advisors during the continuing Covid pandemic, and openly suggested that advisories be ignored.
Again… NOT a fan if a business owner cannot act responsibly.
