Dahlia City Dogs is closing up shop after 26 years in the dog grooming business.

Owner-operator Carla French made the announcement today on Facebook:

“Wayland and surrounding communities, thank you for 26 great years. It’s been a true pleasure serving you and your fur family all these years. I’m blessed to know you. Take care and God bless. We officially closed June 7, 2024…

“The building will be available to lease in August 2024.”

Dahlia City Dogs’ earlier history was its location on East Superior Street at the site known by many as Joe Bookers’ hair-cutting service, next door to the old Wayland/Penasee Globe building, now known as the Helmey Building. French moved the business to 118 W. Maple St., next to the Hair Cut Hut, in 2019.
