The Dame family of Shelbyville has suffered another tragedy.

Brett Dame, a 2010 Wayland High School graduate, died Saturday when he was disconnected from life support. He was 27.

The news is even more tragic in that his younger brother, Evan Lee Dame, died in an icy traffic crash in 2008. Brett was the driver of that car.

Dame was known as a musician, most recently as a member of the Ape Not Kill Ape Band. He attended Grand Rapids Community College to study culinary arts and was employed by the Cherry Street Deli in Grand Rapids.

Among his survivors are family members Sarah, Dennis, Stephanie (and family), Ryan and Dan and his girlfriend Holly Wondergem.

Besides his younger brother Evan, he was preceded in death a few days earlier by band member Allen McAllister.

A family member has posted on Facebook today that a special remembrance service will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Lakeside Park in Caledonia, featuring music and jamming.

What a shit article. Wrong details. And why mention Brett was the driver and not the fact that a speeding police officer hit the car. You should be ashamed.

The article was written to inform people of another loss for the Dame family not a mention of blame. you should be ashamed to blame someone who cared.

How much time did the writer of this article really spend caring?
