Word has been received of the death of Scott Hilbert, a 1965 graduate of Wayland High School. He was 71.

Hilbert, who was said to have suffered a heart attack, has been listed as president of Rhino Seed & Landscape Supply in Brighton, Mich., and his wife, Kathleen Owen Hilbert, is vice president.

The son of former State Senator Frederick Hilbert of Wayland, he was involved in the family Ampro Seed business in Bradley for many years.

Hilbert played football and basketball at Wayland High School.
