Betty Shafer Thompson, 86, of Monterey Township, died Monday, Feb. 27, at Briarwood Assisted Living in Allegan.
She was a graduate of Hopkins High School Class of 1949 and attended Davenport College. Betty was a farmer and lived her entire life in Allegan County on her Monterey Township farm.
She is survived by her sisters and their husbands, Norma (Morris) Handlogten, Linda (James) Weick; nephews and nieces, Deborah Dufour, Roger Handlogten, Robert Weick, Callie Weick; and her good friend, Rick Meade.
Burial will be at Poplar Hill Cemetery overlooking her farm.
Per her request, there will be no funeral services. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Holland (270 Hoover Blvd., Holland, MI 49423.
