A 27-year-old woman from the Hastings area died Monday evening when a deer crashed into her car while she was traveling on 135th Avenue near 7th Street in Wayland Township.

The Allegan County Sheriff’s Office was summoned to the scene at about 7 p.m. Monday to respond to a call about a car being in the ditch and found 27-year-old Kendra Kaye Ohler from Hastings. inside the vehicle unresponsive. She died of her injuries.

Authorities reported the sheriff’s department crash reconstruction team determined a deer crashed into the front window of her car. Neither speed nor alcohol were believed to have been factors.

The female motorist’s name has not been released as yet.
