Wayland’s first post-season football playoff game in 10 years will be a rematch against South Christian.

Martin, meanwhile, will have a first-round contest in eight-man football against Marcellus.

Both Wayland and South Christian will take 6-3 records into Friday night’s ballgame at the South Christian’s home field. The Wildcats prevailed 49-40 in last Friday night’s regular season finale at their home stadium.

The winner the following weekend will take on the other district semifinal game between Ionia (5-4) and Forest Hills Eastern (7-2). The ‘Cats lost to the latter team 28-14 during the regular season.

If Martin (7-2) can get past Marcellus at home in the opening round, it will play the winner of the other district semifinal between Gobles and Mendon. The Clippers two weeks ago defeated Marcellus 28-14. They lost 53-16 to Gobles on Sept. 15.
