Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation Hospital in Grand Rapids has confirmed that the Allegan County deputy hospitalized Sept. 11 after suffering injuries trying to arrest a 35-year-old Dorr man has been released and retuned home.
Police reports were that the deputy, Dillon Kibby, tried to arrest 35-year-old Christopher Gerou for being disorderly when the suspect attacked him, causing significant head trauma. Gerou since then has remained in the Allegan County jail on $50,000 bond.
A trooper from the Wayland post of the Michigan State Police, was at the scene of the alleged assault and arrested Gerou near 142nd Avenue and 16th Street.
