A benefit dinner and auction will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 14, at the Wayland VFW Post #7581 at 735 S. Main St.

Bush, who worked for the City of Wayland, now is quadriplegic and is on a ventilator after he suffered a fall on the Fourth of July.

The event will include a taco bar, silent auction, cash bar, 50-50 raffle and bake sale. Live music, provided by “All In,” will get under way at 4 p.m. at the hall.

Proceeds will be used to help Jim Bush and his family with the many expenses associated with his treatment and required modifications for him at home.
