More than 300 students were recognized for their academic achievement at the annual Scholastic Honors Night held April 16 at the WUFAC. Students who earned a grade point average of 3.5 or higher were invited to attend. Guest speaker Jordan Velie, Class of 2005, son of Wayland Schools Finance Director Pat Velie, delivered an inspiring message to students. New members of the Alumni Hall of Fame were also inducted (Jackie Straub – posthumous and Frank and Marilyn Bastian). Entertaining for the evening was the high school jazz band under the baton of Kelli Tilley Smith.
