Dorr Elementary 3rd-graders visited by dogfish shark

Jan Goodwin, science materials coordinator for the Wayland school district, conducted dogfish shark investigations with all third-graders at Dorr Elemenary this week. She connected to the lessons on animal adaptations and predator-prey relationships. Students had the opportunity to learn how to conduct an investigation properly, ask questions and observe the shark’s body parts and discuss how they help the animal survive.
