The Dorr Township Board Thursday evening agreed to change the meeting dates for the third time since last August. The board will be meeting the rest of the year on the last Thursday or each month except in November, because of Thanksgiving.

The Township Board used to meet on the third Thursday of every month, but a couple of years ago voted to change to the fourth Monday. Trustee Dan Weber in August 2015 asked to switch to the last Tuesday because of his job change. The board went back to Mondays at the start of this year, but this week voted to go to the last Thursday.

So the Dorr Township Board’s meeting dates for the remainder of 2016 will be April 28, May 26, June 30, July 28, Aug. 25, Sept. 29, Oct. 27, Dec. 1 and Dec. 29.

The Township Board also took care of other matters at its meeting Thursday night:

• The board unanimously approved the Parks Committee’s request for its blessing to apply for a Michigan Department of Natural Resources Passport Grant of $60,000, with a 25% local match, which would amount to $15,000.

• The board reappointed Marcia Halloran to the Downtown Development Authority Board and named newcomer Christopher Rozema to four-year terms.
