Dan Beute has been appointed to fill a vacant seat 0n the Dorr Township Planning Commission.
Township Supervisor Jeff Miling recommended him and the remaining members of the board concurred at their meeting Monday evening.
Beute has a background in construction as a journeyman electrician and in the building trade as a project manager. He will serve at least until June 30 of this year.
Beute succeeds Melissa Harding, who resigned her post as secretary late last year because she is moving out of the township.
Though the Planning Commission seat was filled, Miling told his colleagues that there now are two vacancies on the Zoning Board because of the resignation of Jeff Terpstra, who cited the press of business for his stepping down. His move follows that of John Bouterse, who resigned late last year and leaves the five-member board with just three.
Adrian Potter also has resigned as an alternate for the Board of Review, but Miling said that board will have the necessary number to do business later this winter.
