An early Monday morning fire routed the people living inside in the 100 block of West Maple Street in Wayland, but all were able to escape safely.

Fire authorities said the fire was reported just before 6 a.m. Monday by passerby Ashley and Brady Forcier at the apartment building near the corner of West Maple and North Main. It had been a house converted into apartments.
