Eighth-graders show demonstrations for Glacier Fair

Wayland Union MiddleGlacier Fair (8) School eighth-graders from Dana Omness’ and Rick Brown’s science classes held a Glacier Fair last week. Students selected various glacial formations and created models to demonstrate how they form. They presented them to their fellow classmates and to WMS staff members.  Students used their iPads for research and to show additional information on their glacial feature. Tristin Crittendon (pictured) selected the glacial process called “plucking,” where she used polystyrene and magnets to demonstrate how glaciers pick up large rock and debris that leave behind a jagged landscape.
