A candidates forum will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at Fennville High School for the three candidates running for the open seat in the state House’s 80th District, the position formerly held by State Rep. Cindy Gamrt until she was expelled Sept. 11.
The forum, organized by The Holland League of Women Voters, will include Democrat David Gernant, Republican Mary Whiteford and Libertarian Arnis Davidson, all of whom are running in a March 8 special election. The Michigan presidential primary vote also will be conducted that day.
Audience members will be invited to ask questions of the three candidates. The event will be recorded and available for viewing a few days after the event at www.lwvholland.org
The 80th District includes all of Allegan County except for Wayand City and Wayland, Leighton and Wayland townships.
