A “Rally for the Environment,” sponsored by State Representative candidate Ron Draayer of Kentwood, will be held will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday, May 21, at the Yankee Springs Recreation Area State Park, Roosevelt Beach Pavilion.
Draayer is the Democratic candidate for the 72nd District, which includes Dorr and Leighton townships, Wayland Township, the City of Wayland, Gaines Township and the City of Kentwood.
The rally promises to be an action-oriented, educational event for people who are interested in learning how they can help protect West Michigan’s natural resources. Several local and regional environmental groups will be at the event to share information about their organizations, as well as to address the top environmental issues that the southwest Michigan area is facing. One of the event’s featured speakers is a local expert in sustainable manufacturing, other topics will include green gardening, clean water, and waste management.
Cost is free, but Michigan Recreation Passport is required for each car to enter the park.
