The Wayland Union Schools’ annual Summer Fun-Tastic free lunch series for children 18 years old and younger will resume Monday, July 30, and continue weekdays though Saturday, Aug. 25.
The school district again is working with local businesses and the Henika District Library to offer a series of fun, summer events in which a free meal will be provided Monday through Friday each week. The lunches will be served at Steeby Elementary School, Hunters Glen Mobile Home Community, Sawmill Estates and Windsor Woods Village.
Lunch will be served immediately after the events listed below unless otherwise stated.
Besides free meals, free events will be offered to the community:
- Rick Kelley Interactive Music Program – Wednesday, Aug. 1, at 10:30 a.m. at Steeby Elementary. Lunch, 11:30 to noon. Free books to first 100 kids.
- Exotic Zoo Animal Show — Wednesday, Aug. 8, at 10:45 am at Steeby Elementary. Lunch, 11:30 to noon. Free books to first 100 kids.
- Playtime in the Park — Monday, Aug. 13, at 11 a.m. at Wayland City Park. Free book for each family. For children ages birth to 5, older siblings are welcome to join. Lunch, noon to 12:30 p.m.
- Kiwanis Kids Day, Saturday, Aug. 25, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wayland City Park. Lunch, 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
