March 9 Leighton Plan Commission meeting site moved

The next Leighton Township Planning Commission meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 9, at the gymnasium of Green Lake Calvary Church, 608 145th St. in Caledonia. The air park issue will be  on the agenda.

The proposed air park and development is planned for the corner of 144th Street and Kalamazoo Avenue. Developer is Clark Galloway and Township Supervisor Steve Deer is an investor.

“Green Lake Landings,” is the name of the proposed development, which would include 15 new homes on two-acre lots on a 98-acre parcel. Developers estimate that 25 planes would use the airstrip and there would be six to eight hangars.
