Martin banquet to honor 125 years of high school graduates

A special alumni banquet at 6 p.m. Saturday, June 6, will recognize the 125th anniversary of the first Martin High School graduation.

The potluck celebration will be held in the school cafeteria at 1556 Chalmers St., Martin.

Anyone who ever attended Martin schools is invited to attend, as are all former teachers. Those attending are asked to bring a dish to pass.

The first Martin High School graduating class in 1890 had seven members, Grace Nichols, Claude Ross, Delia Lamphere, Jessie Anderson, Ernie Fenner, Alfred Wylie and Belle Campbell.

This year’s Martin class has 39 graduating seniors.
