Stuff The Turkey,“ a charitable food drive event organized by the Michigan State Police to assist families in need during the Thanksgiving holiday will run until Nov. 25.
Troopers from the Michigan State Police Wayland Post are teaming with several local elementary schools (Hopkins, Sycamore, Dorr, St. Theresa and Pine Street Elementary) to collect food for local food pantries. The purpose of this event is to raise hunger awareness and to help those in need.
The Michigan State Police will park a patrol vehicle outside of each elementary school. Various students will assist in stuffing the donated items into the patrol vehicle. At the conclusion of the event, a trooper will haul the collected items to a local food pantry.
