Watch Night Service planned Dec. 31 at United Church

A Watch Night Service will be held at 11 p.m. Monday, Dec. 31, at the United Church of Wayland, 411 East Superior St.

The purpose will be to bring in the new year with a sense of hope, peace and gratitude.

A Watch Night Service is defined as a time of prayer and meditation, candle lighting and a deliberate letting go of the troubles of the previous year. It will conclude just past midnight Jan. 1

The service will include readings and reflections, letting go of troubles from 2018 and praying in the New Year. The labyrinth will be used for meditation.
