Both the Wayland and Martin boys’ varsity basketball teams will play in the annual Cornerstone Holiday Tournament Dec. 26-30.
Martin will play at 7:30 p.m. Monday against Forest Hills Eastern. The Clippers will play again Thursday against either Forest Hills Northern or Zeeland West, at 6 p.m. if they lose Monday or at 7:30 if they win their opening encounter.
Coach David Curry’s Clippers are 3-0 overall this season, but are taking up a huge challenge as a Class D team playing against Class B opponents.
Wayland will get under way Wednesday, Dec. 28, against Rockford. If the Wildcats can win that one they very well may face Wyoming Godwin Heights, the team that has knocked them out of the tournament in the past two years. Godwin will play Lowell Wednesday.
Second round games will be played at 6 p.m. and 7:30 Friday, Dec. 30.
