Wayland Union Schools will start its second Summer Fun Days celebration series Monday, June 13, ending the weekday program Aug. 27, featuring free lunches for area kids under 18 years of age.
Most of the meals will be provided weekdays at the United Church of Wayland, Steeby Elementary, Windsor Woods Community Center and Sawmill Estates on Reno Drive. But sometimes they will be offered in such places as the City Park and Henika Library when there are special programs planned.
The first special program will be in the newly renovated park from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday, June 20, with a “Bounce Party.” Featured will be Mega Bouncer, Wacky Comb, and tee-ball inflatables. A special addition will be a frozen yogurt sundae truck event, sponsored by Northern Physical Therapy and the Wayland Union Education Foundation.
A “Fresh Food Fairy” program will be put together Tuesday, June 14, at Steeby Elementary School. Enjoy a bike blender smoothie! Lunch 11:30 to noon.
Sawmill Estates will serve lunches from 12:30 to 12:45 p.m. Mondays through Fridays Windsor Woods will have lunches from 1 to 1:30 p.m. Mondays through Fridays. United Church of Wayland lunch dates will vary, depending on when next door Steeby lunches are not provided.
