WHS orchestra, jazz band to perform Oct. 23, 25

The Wayland High School jazz band and orchestra will present a concert from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct.23 at the Wayland High School Fine Arts Center. The jazz group, under the direction of Kelli Tilley Smith, will perform at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 25.

It will be the first public concert of the academic year. Admission is free.

The Emerging Strings and Symphony Strings are under the direction of Karen Nofsinger. The theme of these concerts is food, and the students are participating in a food drive to benefit Project Hope in Dorr.

Audience members are invited to bring canned food and toiletries to donate.
