The Wayland varsity football team will be for a veteran’s appreciation event Friday evening, Sept. 16, at the football stadium.

The Wildcats will take on the Wolves of Wyoming and plan to honor those who have served our nation and defended the many freedoms we enjoy.

Veterans will be granted free admission to the game. Donations will be taken to benefit the West Michigan Veterans Assistance Program (Wayland) and the Wounded Soldier Foundation (Belding). Wildcat players will raise money by wearing special game jerseys. Some game jerseys will be auctioned off.

Wildcat players have interviewed a veteran and done a short write-up that will be put into a special program. Veterans will be asked to come down to the track at halftime to receive special recognition.

Other surprises will occur as well.
