WHS to have drive-in graduation ceremony July 30

The Wayland High School Class of 2020 graduation ceremony will be a drive-up affair at 7 p.m. Thursday, July 30 at the high school main parking lot.

It had been hoped that the graduating seniors could have commencement at the Ron Stehouwer football stadium, but recent events with the COVID-19 crisis appear to have required a different option, a drive-in ceremony very similar to what Hopkins is doing.

Graduates and parents are urged to drive to the parking lot and remain in their vehicles. The stage will be the stadium concourse facing the parking lot, where speakers will address members of the class. The ceremony also will be live streamed on the Internet.
