Denise Dykstra, who writes a weekly “Everyday Joys” column for Townbroadcast, is taking a leave of absence because she has been asked to work on a big writing project.
“I am ecstatic! And honored. And very overwhelmed,” Dykstra said.
However, because of this writing project, she said she needs to take a break from Townbroadcast. She also has been serving as deputy clerk for Martin Township.
“I have been sharing a tidbit about my small town life with you for over a year and it has been my joy to do so,” she continued. “Thank you for reading along! But I just could not give myself fully to this writing project I am working on as well as keep up creatively for this online paper. I hope you all keep looking for those Everyday Joys that are all around you!
“The writing project will take a solid two months more. I have been trying to balance them both and I knew something had to go. So, I will be taking a leave of absence from the Townbroadcast.”
“It’s been a joy to have been asked by you to write and have you publish this weekly column for me.”
I’ll miss you while you’re gone! You have been a wonderful tonic for my jaded world view, and a wonderful reminder of the things that do make our communities great to live in.
Lynn,
I hope you are well because I have been looking for your posts as well! Never fear, I have lots of words still in me! ????
