John Wamhoff

Hopkins High School alum John Wamhoff has been hired to take over the school’s cross-country program this fall.

Wamhoff, who ran for the Vikings 11 years ago and then at Indiana Tech University, succeeds Brooke Brenner and Jamie Kiss, who have headed up the program for more than a decade.

Athletic Director Andrew Mains said, “We’re excite to bring John back home to Hopkins High School, where he can build on the foundation that coach Brenner started. John will be a great fit for our program and student athletes.”

Wamhoff and his wife live in Plainwell with their two dogs.

The cross country season starts next month, with the first official day of practice Monday, Aug. 7.
