Former Wayland High School football teammates Mike Miklusicak and Quentin Sweeney met as rivals on the gridiron Saturday with the former getting the best of a 31-6 victory by Hope over Kalamazoo College.

Miklusicak scored Hope’s first three touchdowns on runs of 6, 14 and 55 yards and he rushed for 166 yards on 21 attempts. It was the fourth time Miklusicak has gained at least 100 yards in a game this season. He has picked up 745 yards on the year.

Sweeney, also a junior, is the Hornets’ leading tackler at the linebacker position. Kalamazoo is 2-5 for the season and Hope is 5-3. Both schools are members of the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association, the oldest athletic conference in the nation.
