Dangerous dry conditions prompt local burning bans

Broadcast meterologists have been saying this month has been one of the driest on record, and area fire departments have issued bans on burning leaves and rubbish as a result. Firefighters have reported there have been some complaints about inappropriate burning of yard waste, limbs and leaves, causing them to ask residents to cease and desist, at least for now.
