Randy Maynard took this photo of the swirl of clouds over the overpass at U.S.-131 and 144th Avenue just north of Dorr on Wednesday evening. It wasn’t long afterward that a welcome storm passed through this area, dropping needed rain on lawns and crops. It was the first significant rain in West Michigan since early May. It also included plenty of thunder and lightning for added special effects.
