The Smith & Doster car dealership in Delton was destroyed by fire early Monday morning.
Delton Fire Department firefighters were summoned to 114 N Grove St. at about 7:30 a.m. The building was empty when personnel arrived.
Delton Kellogg schools, as a result, will be closed Monday. The schools’ buses are running starting at 9:30 a.m. Teachers will be riding the vehicles to make sure that a parent or guardian is at home with idle students. The children will not be allowed to leave without a parent or supervisor.
The Delton District Library also announced that it closed Monday due to the fire.
Local fire officials said it is not clear what caused the fire.
