Fire in frigid temps destroys home in Dorr

The Leighton, Wayland and Salem fire departments Friday night assisted the Dorr FD on a structure fire on 18th Street north of town in Dorr. Due to the intense cold and adverse conditions many firefighters were needed. Total time involved was roughly five hours. Maddy Swisher Saturday posted on Facebook, “… the house that my dad and brother live in, caught on fire. It started while they were out of the house, trapping our dogs inside. My brother Ethan, was able to safely get the dogs out of the house. Ethan lost everything except for the clothes on his back… Since then my brother and dad have made a gofundme to help them get back onto their feet.”
