Leighton Township firefighters were able to extinguish a fire Monday afternoon at a house on the corner of Park Street and 144th Avenue in Moline. Several area departments assisted. There were reports the fire began on the porch. There were no injuries reported and those who were at home at the time of the incident were able to escape unharmed. The house was a total loss.
