The first John Paul Myers Memorial Scholarship recipient is Trevor Kamphuis, who “has shown strength through adversity, a passion for helping others, and has worked hard to give himself a bright future, just like John always had,” A family spokesperson said.
“We would like to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for donating money and purchasing apparel to raise funds for this scholarship. Thanks to your kindness and generosity, we were able to award Trevor with $1,000 toward his education in skilled trades! It was our absolute honor to give this award in memory of John, and can’t wait for many more years of supporting Hopkins High School seniors in this way!”
Myers, a longtime area builder and Hopkins community supporter and at one time a member of the Hopkins Board of Education, died earlier this year.
