Julia Mae O’Connor, age 98, formerly of Dorr, died Friday, April 28, at the Allegan General Hospital.
She was born on Oct. 1, 1918, to Con and Sarah (Ramsey) Sheridan in St. Francisville, IL. Julia married Aaron Schoolman, who preceded her in death on Aug. 24, 1970. On June 26th, 1976, she married Matt O’ Connor and he preceded her in death June 2, 2010.
Julia was known for being very neat and tidy, along with being an excellent cook. She was a member of Burnips United Methodist Church for many years.
Julia is survived by her; three daughters, Shirley (Doug) Greiffendorf, Betty (Gene) Collick, Sandra Viergutz; Five Step-daughters, Donna (Paul) Burmania, Barbara (Don) Thompson, Lavonne (Phil) Chenier, Bonnie (Jim) Teunissen, Cheryl (Ed) Davis; Three Step-sons, Wayne (Judy) O’Connor, Russell (Janice) O’Connor, Dale (Terri) O’Connor; more than 100 hundred grandchildren, great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandson, sister Peggy (Carl) Dostie and sister-in-law’s; Ruby Sheridan and Mary O’Connor.
She was preceded in death by five brothers, including her twin brother Ray, four sisters, step-son Scott O’Connor, grandsons Jody Collick and Greg Burmania, son-in-law Jerry Viergutz.
Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday, May 5, at Kubiak-Cook Funeral Services, Dorr. Private family graveside services will be held on Saturday at the Salem Township Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to the St. Jude’s Children Hospital or the Williams Syndrome Association.
