Former Hopkins man Andy Marcinek dies in San Antonio

Philip Andrew”Andy”Marcinek, 60, died May 11 at his home in San Antonio.

Born Aug. 9, 1958, he was the eighth child of Edward and Adeline (Pawloski) Marcinek. He grew up in Hopkins, graduated from Hopkins High School in 1976 and graduated from Western Michigan University School of Aviation.

He loved flying and flew clients to many destinations in the U.S. and Mexico during his career as a charter pilot. Flights to Texas A&M football games were especially popular.

Andy lived his adult life in San Antonio. He attended Holy Trinity Catholic Church.

Survivors include siblings, Daniel (Carol) Marcinek, Sally Marcinek, Paul (Nancy)Marcinek, Camilla (Michael) Smith, Ted (Valerie) Marcinek Clare (Michael) Vilenski, Alex (Doreen) Marcinek, Vincent (Terry) Marcinek, several nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents and oldest sister, Susanna Christman.
