Former Hopkins woman Angeline Thomas passes at 72

Angeline Ruth (photo_20150317_WM0033747_0_thomas_angeline4_20150317Vander Kolk) Thomas, age 72, of Byron Center, formerly of Hopkins, died Monday, March 16, after a long struggle with M.S.

She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Dean; her son and daughter-in-law, David and Jill Thomas; grandchildren, Jacob and Bella Thomas; her sisters, Alice and Elton Ransler, Barbara and Rev. Russell Coffey; sister-in-law, Sharon Thomas; many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Virginia Vander Kolk; and brother-in-law, Donald Thomas.

The funeral service will be held at 11 am Thursday, March 19, at Woodhaven Reformed Church, 3954 68th St. SW, with Pastor Steve Petroelje officiating. Interment in Maplewood Cemetery. The family will greet visitors on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home and Thursday prior to the service, from 10 to 10:45 am at the church

Memorial contributions may be made to Woodhaven Reformed Church Senior High Youth Group, or the National MS Society.
